Jessica landed skills that matter

I am currently managing the glasshouses at Chelsea Physic Garden. The course helped me build confidence in my current role, enabling me to pass on knowledge to others about the specifics of cultivation. Jessica studied Level 2 and Level 3 RHS courses at Capel Manor College.

Career prospects

Commercial Horticulturist

Produce ornamental plants, vegetables, salads, fruit and flowers either outdoors or in polytunnels and greenhouses. Careers can range from managing the production of fresh produce to cultivating plants for nurseries.

Greenkeeper

You can specialise in keeping turf in top condition for sports events such as football, cricket, rugby, tennis and golf. These careers incorporate soil science, pest control and more.

Head Gardener

Be responsible for year-round management of a private estate. Careers in this area are creative and practical, incorporating site design and development, conducting guided tours and managing a team of gardeners.
