Course overview

In this two-day workshop we will bring clarity into the myriad of options available to the wine maker in the winery.

You will be able to enjoy a hands-on experience in the vineyard and with a thorough tasting at the end of the day, you will be given the knowledge and tools to make better informed decisions in the winery.

Available sessions:

Organic wines – Friday 28 March 2025

Do organic wines taste differently from non-organic wines? Are organic wines healthier than non-organic wines? We will answer this and many other questions by looking at the science behind organic wine production and by tasting a carefully selected flight of organic wines from England and abroad together.

Natural and orange wines – Friday 11 April 2025

Very trendy but often misunderstood, natural and orange wines have taken the wine world by surprise. You will look at the different wine making methods and try and dispel some of the myths surrounding natural and orange wines by comparing a flight of individually chosen wines from England and abroad.

Wines from marginal countries – Thursday 8 May 2025

Climate change is presenting us with many challenges, but countries, which traditionally had been outside the regular vine growing sphere, are now slowly establishing their place on the global wine map. We will learn about these new entrants to the world of wine producers and taste a selection of top wines from mainly England but also other marginal regions in the world.

You will learn

  • The pros and cons of different wine making options
  • Hands-on practice in the vineyard
  • Wine tasting skills
