Course overview
Spring pruning, also known as ‘shoot selection’ is a key task in the vineyard year. A vital course for every potential vineyard owner, manager or worker.
A practice led course, your day will begin with theory in the morning, followed by hands-on training at Forty Hall Vineyard in the afternoon. The day will close with a short theory and practice test of your new learning.

Although there is no formal qualification associated with this course, all participants will receive a Capel Manor College Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the course.
No entry requirements however, an interest in the subject area is key.
You can progress to one of our other courses in viticulture and oenology.
