Arboriculture and Forestry

Arboriculture and tree surgery courses in Enfield

Our arboriculture courses and tree surgery courses cover the planting, care and maintenance of individual trees in woodlands, rural and urban areas. These specialisms are closely linked to forestry, which is the science and practice of managing forests and woodlands.

We offer the perfect London location for your studies, with over 30 acres of gardens and over 200 acres of land spread across the Capital. You will gain invaluable subject knowledge alongside hands-on skills, learning how to operate, maintain and use modern industry machinery and equipment.

How to become a tree surgeon or arborist

Our full-time, part-time and apprenticeship courses open up numerous educational and career opportunities with many students progressing to higher education or straight into careers within the industry.

Train across 30 acres of gardens and woodland

Our arboriculture courses use inspiring training facilities across our own 30 acres of gardens and woodland at our Enfield Campus. Here you can take a tree climbing course, practice tree felling and try a range of other tree surgery skills, experiencing first-hand what a career working outdoors is really like.

Our connections with many of London's parks also give students regular opportunities to volunteer and build further experience.

Careers

Our arboriculture courses can support progression into roles such as arborist, tree surgeon, forestry worker, tree officer, woodland manager, tree inspector, groundsperson or arboricultural consultant. They are also a practical route for anyone researching how to become a tree surgeon or how to become an arborist.

Ivor's story

I really enjoyed my course. The teaching style benefitted me greatly as it was very hands-on and interactive. Our arboriculture courses develop your practical skills and knowledge, preparing you for working in the arboriculture, tree surgery or forestry sectors.
