Ofsted's new framework

Ofsted’s new framework (from November 2025) replaces one overall grade with a report card showing separate ratings for key areas.

Expected standard: The provider is doing everything it should, consistently and well. This is a high benchmark, not a basic pass.

Strong standard: All “Expected standard” criteria have been met and the provider goes beyond expectations, delivering highly impactful practice that makes a real difference.

The scorecard displays our achievements across various provisions. Providers can get different grades in different areas. These new ratings do not directly match the old “Good” or “Outstanding” labels.
