Course overview
Develop your art further. We will focus on building and expanding your artistic skills, creating your own independent artistic practice and drawing and painting on site, en plein air, in the garden grounds. We will use your sketchbook, photography and video reels on your smartphone to inspire you back in the studio.
With an image-illustrated Art History lecture looking at the artwork and different palettes of Old Masters and Contemporary Artists to inspire you. The tutor trained as a fine artist, and has experienced both sides of the canvas as an art critic, historian, TV broadcastor, professional artists mentor and art educator.
All materials and equipment will be provided for use.

- Brushwork
- Palette knife daubing
Although there is no formal qualification associated with this course, all participants will receive a Capel Manor College Certificate of Attendance upon completion.
You must be aged 19 or over to apply for this workshop. Prior knowledge and skills of drawing and painting techniques and/or completion of a beginners level painting/drawing workshop.
Upon completion of this workshop, you can progress onto other Art and Design workshops to expand your skills or as an artist onto further study of Landscape. You can also apply for an accredited UAL Art and Design qualification.
Government funding is not available for this course; you will need to pay for your tuition. The fee shown for each campus and course start date is the total fee that you will need to pay.
For some of our courses, we offer a discount for current students. If this is the case, you will see the reduced fee when you select your chosen course campus and start date. To qualify for this discount, you must already be studying another course at Capel Manor College, and be adding this course to your existing programme.
