Course overview
Join us to explore the sustainable art of felting. In this one day taster course inspired by the beautiful gardens at Capel Manor College you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of fleeces to create your own art.
We start the day with a stroll around the gardens where you will gather inspiration for your own small felted design, then return to the craft room for a demonstration from your instructor before getting hands on and creating your own felted art piece!
You will learn
- Short History of Felting
- Working with Different Fleece
- Basic Wet Felting Techniques
- Basic Needle Felting Techniques
- Creating a Felting project with both Wet Felting and Needle Felted Elements.
Although there is no formal qualification associated with this course, all participants will receive a Capel Manor College Certificate of Attendance upon completion.
You must be aged 19 or over to apply for this workshop. A keen interest in crafting and learning a new skill is desired.
Upon completion of this course you can progress onto the accredited 5 week introduction ‘The Art of Felting for Beginners’ which runs on Fridays from 10am to 4pm – starting on Friday 25 April 2025.
