Course overview
This two-day workshop introduces participants to the art of mosaic making by creating a functional and artistic trivet using a set design, perfect for experimenting with colours and patterns.
The tutor is a mosaic artist and owner of Qemamu Mosaics and has taught classes for over 20 years. She has featured on BBC’s Make It At Market, David and Jay’s Touring Toolshed and Channel 4’s Changing Rooms. Her mission is to inspire and build confidence in her students or hobbyists.
All materials and equipment will be provided for use. The completed design will yours to take home and enjoy.
You will learn
- How to design and plan
- How to cut and shape
- How to apply tiles
- How to grout and finish your design piece
Although there is no formal qualification associated with this course, all participants will receive a Capel Manor College Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the course.
You must be aged 19 or over to apply for this workshop and have an interest in crafting and learning a new skill.
Upon completion of this workshop, you can progress onto an intermediate level mosaic workshop to expand your skills. You can also apply for an accredited UAL Art and Design qualification.
Government funding is not available for this course; you will need to pay for your tuition. The fee shown for each campus and course start date is the total fee that you will need to pay.
For some of our courses, we offer a discount for current students. If this is the case, you will see the reduced fee when you select your chosen course campus and start date. To qualify for this discount, you must already be studying another course at Capel Manor College, and be adding this course to your existing programme.
