ApprenticeshipsOn the first day of National Apprenticeship Week, Conservative Shadow Skills Minister, John Hayes MP met horticulture and trees & timber apprentices and their employers at Capel Manor College to learn first hand about their personal experience of the apprenticeship. Available to all ages, apprenticeships provide on-the-job training so employees can contribute to the business while gaining the skills and experience the employer needs. For employers in England who are considering taking on an apprentices there are currently 5000 grants of £2500 for employers who take on an unemployed apprentice aged 16 or 17, by the end of March 2010. Learning and Skills Council Learner Survey 2009/10
The Learning and Skills Council has asked all FE students and apprentices to comment on their experience with the college so far this year. The on-line survey has just 17 questions – it takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Please open the link below, enter Capel’s learning provider code – 10001148 - and your own student code number (it’s on your ID card).
