Course overview

This nationally recognised qualification is ideal for those who apply pesticides using various handheld applicators such as knapsack sprayers.

If your job involves applying pesticides in a commercial role then you are legally required by the Plant Protection Products (Sustainable Use) Regulations (2012) to take this qualification.

You will learn

  • The legislative and safety regulations relating to applicator use
  • How to assess the environmental factors relating to mixing and application
  • How to read and interpret product information
  • How to prepare and calibrate a hand held pedestrian applicator
  • How to operate the application equipment
  • How to carry out post-operational procedures

You must be eligible for this course through the London Talent Pathways scheme. Candidates will be eligible if they are a London resident aged 19 or over and applications are prioritised for:
People who are unemployed or in low-paid work.
Adults with no qualifications or without a Level 2 qualification.
Young Londoners aged 19–23 and adults aged 50 or over.
Disabled Londoners.
Londoners from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.
