Course overview

Please note, this course is only available for those who are aged 19 or over. Please do not apply if you are younger than 19 years old. Gain a solid foundation for a career in planning events, from corporate events to weddings.

This comprehensive course is designed to equip you with the skills and confidence needed to plan and execute a wide range of events successfully. Throughout the course, you will engage in various modules each term, focusing on different aspects of event planning.

By the end of this course, you will have a well-rounded understanding of event planning and the ability to apply these skills to a variety of event types.

  • The art of creating stunning balloon arrangements to enhance any event
  • The techniques for designing and styling events to create memorable experiences
  • Basic photography skills to capture the essence of your events
  • The key components of hospitality to ensure your guests have a seamless experience
  • How to master the art of setting tables including creating personalised table cards and other decorative elements

At least two GCSEs at grade 3 and above (grade D and above). A Pass grade in one of our Level 1 or 2 floristry or event styling courses. A willingness and commitment to learn new skills. Enthusiasm for working with flowers and other mixed media materials such as balloons . Before you start your course, if you are aged between 16 and 18 years old, you will be required to attend a fun and practical two-day preparation workshop where you will meet your tutors and other students on your course. Further details will be provided at the point of an offer being made.

Successful completion of this course will enable you to gain employment in the event planning industry. You can also progress onto one of our Level 3 creative event management courses.

This course is part-funded by the ESFA (Education and Skills Funding Agency) or Greater London Authority (GLA) for those that are eligible.

If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 at the start of the course, your tuition, exams and materials fees will be paid for you in full as long as you meet some basic criteria for UK residence (more information can be found on our Fees and Funding page).

If you are aged 19 or over on the day your course starts, you may be entitled to help with tuition fees subject to criteria. If you receive employment benefits, have a low income, or are studying towards your first substantial qualification, you may be entitled to free tuition. For some of our courses, we offer a discount for current students. If this is the case, you will see the reduced fee when you select your chosen course campus and start date. To qualify for this discount, you must already be studying another course at Capel Manor College, and be adding this course to your existing programme.
