Chair of Corporation: Joanne Roxburgh

Vice Chair: Darrell DeSouza OBE

A management consultant with over 38 years of experience in further education, Dr DeSouza previously served as Group Principal and CEO at HCUC, launching the West London Institute of Technology. His expertise, spanning senior management and lecturing roles, reflects a commitment to enhancing educational experiences. As a member of multiple committees, including Audit and Academic, he plays a pivotal role in shaping Capel Manor College’s future success.

Principal and Chief Executive: Peter Brammall

Peter Brammall brings a wealth of experience from the further education and skills sectors, with a keen focus on enhancing employability and skills support for diverse learners. His leadership ensures Capel Manor College remains at the forefront of educational innovation.

Paulina Balogun

Paulina Balogun’s journey from the financial sector to academia exemplifies her commitment to nurturing future talent. As Head of College at SoundSkool Music College, her insights into bridging industry gaps are invaluable.

Nicola Barker

Nikki Barker is currently Project Co-Ordinator for the RHS Transition to Peat-free, working within the science and collections department at the RHS. She has worked across a range of sectors within horticulture, including amenity, landscape and retail. Prior to joining the RHS as Senior Horticultural Advisor in 2019, she was Commercial Manager and lecturer at Hadlow College. She has a keen interest in promoting the horticultural industry as a career to the next generation.

Dr. Sheila Cunningham

Dr. Sheila Cunningham’s extensive background in healthcare education underscores her dedication to inclusive learning. Her role as Deputy Dean at Middlesex University enriches Capel Manor College’s academic vision.

Aaron Davis

Peter Doble

Lorna Fitzjohn

Joe Howarth

Joe Howarth is a former Capel Manor College student with over 25 years experience in the landscape sector. He has held varying positions within national landscaping companies and is currently Operations Director at John O’Conner GM Ltd. A chartered horticulturalist & strong advocate for vocational training, he has a wealth of industry knowledge that can support the College.

Guy Jones-Owen

With a distinguished career in banking and sustainable development, Guy Jones-Owen brings a wealth of financial expertise to the Audit Committee. His commitment to Capel Manor College’s legacy is deeply rooted in familial ties.

Alex Lane

As General Counsel at Hive Energy, Alex Lane’s legal acumen and environmental advocacy resonate with the College’s ethos of sustainability. His role in promoting renewable energy aligns seamlessly with the College’s environmental initiatives.

Mei Lim

Ralph Luck OBE DMS FRICS

Ralph Luck’s illustrious career in urban regeneration and property development positions him as a key influencer in Capel Manor College’s estate management. His dedication to sustainable growth mirrors the college’s environmental stewardship.

Sarah Moreland MBE

Stephen Way

Stephen Way’s expertise in enterprise IT and governance complements Capel Manor College’s vision for digital innovation. His passion for exploring abandoned spaces mirrors his bold approach to educational leadership.

Independent Member: Tony Young

Tony Young is Independent Member of the Audit Committee. Now retired, Tony worked for Barclays Bank PLC for 36 years in both domestic and international corporate banking, his final position there being Head of Governance, Risk and Control for the International Corporate Banking arm of Barclays Wealth. Subsequently Tony spent 4 years working as a consultant on finance and governance for a UK based pharmaceutical manufacturer and distributor. He is Chair of Governors for a Hertfordshire Primary School and Day Care Centre, as well as Churchwarden for the Anglican Parish church of the town centre of Welwyn Garden City.

Staff Governor:

  • Zoe Halfyard who is an Animal Management Lecturer at Crystal Palace Park.

Student Governors:

Attends Academic Committee, Academic Board, Estates Committee and Full Governing Body and training events.

  • Sebastian Calver who is studying Level 2 Horticulture and Professional Landscaping at our Mottingham campus.
  • Richard Elliott who is studying Level 3 Wildlife and Conservation at our Enfield campus.
  • Milana Uginciute who is studying Level 2 Animal Management Technical Diploma at our Crystal Palace Park campus.
