Independent NPTC assessment
(Previously known as CS30)

This core unit will be taught onto 2 consecutive days followed by a one day independent NPTC assessment (see timetable below).
Candidates are taught in both workshop and fields conditions.
This intensive practical course requires a good level of physical fitness and an ability to study written technical information
- The routine maintenance (both preventative and corrective) required for petrol driven chainsaws and including safe starting procedures and pre-work checks
- On site preparation
- The cross-cutting and stacking of timber produce
- Reading & interpreting of information such as safety instructions & technical knowledge
All candidates must bring their own personal protective equipment (PPE)
All prices include hire of equipment (£35 for external candidates/£10 for Capel Manor College students)
All chainsaw assessments require a £350 deposit for a non-student or £50 for a Capel Manor student
