Leading London’s Green Skills Future: Capel Manor College Recognised as Strong Green Skills Education Provider by Ofsted

Capel Manor College is proud to announce the outcomes of its latest Ofsted inspection under its new, stricter framework. Ofsted’s report highlights the College’s leading role in delivering green skills education across London and the surrounding region.

The report recognises Capel Manor College as a key institution for land-based and green skills education, noting its strong partnerships with employers, sector bodies and regional stakeholders. Leaders were commended for aligning the curriculum closely with London’s green skills priorities, ensuring students develop the technical expertise and professional behaviours needed in a rapidly evolving workforce.

Inspectors confirmed that safeguarding arrangements at the College are fully effective, with leaders and governors creating an open and positive culture where safeguarding is embedded across all areas of the organisation. As a result, students and apprentices report feeling safe, supported and confident in raising concerns.

Positive outcomes for students and apprentices

Adult learning programmes were rated at a Strong standard, with inspectors highlighting high achievement rates and the College’s success in supporting students to retrain, upskill and progress into employment or further study.

Across the College, all students and apprentices benefit from industry-standard facilities and resources, meaningful work placements and an inclusive learning environment.

Areas for further development

The inspection also identified some areas for improvement, including strengthening GCSE Maths results for young learners and supporting some apprentices that were affected by previous disruption to their studies. Leaders are prioritising actions to address these areas.

Students expressed pride in being part of the College and value the opportunity to develop practical skills in inspiring surroundings.
