Adam Sarfas and Andrew Deane from the Professional Short Courses team at Capel Manor were presented with over £5000 worth of ‘state of the art’ forestry and arboriculture equipment and PPE (Personal protective equipment) by James Woodbridge, Area Business Manager for the world’s largest outdoor power equipment makers.
As part of Husqvarna’s sponsorship deal and to show their confidence in Capel Manor Colleges’ commitment in delivering high quality training, the college has benefited from their full adoption partnership package of which Capel Manor is the only training provider to be adopted in the East Anglian and South Eastern regions.
The adoption package was introduced this year to recognise and reward training providers for their role in training future arborists and foresters. The power tools presented include: a brushcutter 545RX, pole pruner 357 PT5S, top-handled arborist saw T540XP, chainsaw 550XP and 2 general purpose chainsaws 235e.
Husqvarna have been sponsoring Capel Manor College for a number of years and has provided the college with a number of machines to ensure training is delivered on the newest and most advanced machinery used within the arboriculture and countryside industries; as well as providing training materials and opportunities for trainers to have technical updates on new equipment.
On receiving the equipment, Professional Short Courses trainer, Andrew Deane said: “We are really excited about this adoption package and I know it will be of enormous value to the Professional Short Courses provision. The machines provided are of fantastic quality and the chainsaw 550XP is one of the best saws I have ever used. We like to encourage our students to experience power tools from a number of brands, so they can get a comprehensive understanding of what is available in the market.”
