Host a supported intern and make a difference

Could your organisation provide a supported internship placement for a young person with additional learning needs?

Capel Manor College is seeking local employers to host supported interns for 15 hours per week between November 2026 and June 2027.

Supported internships help young people aged 16–24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) gain valuable workplace experience, develop confidence and build the skills needed for long-term employment. With the right opportunity, many supported interns progress into paid employment with their placement employer or elsewhere.

What's involved?

We are looking for employers who can offer:

  • A meaningful workplace placement for approximately 15 hours per week.
  • Placements running from November 2026 until June 2027.
  • Opportunities for interns to learn real job skills in a supportive working environment.
  • A named workplace supervisor to provide day-to-day guidance.
  • No previous experience of supported internships is required.

  • Workplace assessments and regular reviews.
