Saddlery and Shoemaking
Our saddlery, shoemaking and leatherwork courses combine traditional craftsmanship with modern industry skills. Hands-on training in our professional workshops covers everything from saddle making, harness and bridle making to shoe design, footwear construction and practical leathercraft techniques.
Courses are taught at our Enfield Campus in London and include qualifications from respected industry bodies such as The Worshipful Company of Cordwainers and The Worshipful Company of Saddlers, preparing you for specialist careers in the equestrian, footwear and leather industries.
Many of our students go on to work for saddlery businesses and Master Saddlers, while others take up apprenticeships to continue their training. The skills you learn are also transferable, with former students working for a wide range of employers such as luxury leather goods makers, the British Army and fashion designers.

Leatherwork courses develop practical skills in cutting, stitching and crafting leather goods. Saddlery courses focus on the production and repair of saddles, harnesses and bridles for the equestrian industry. Shoemaking courses teach footwear construction, pattern cutting, assembly and finishing techniques.

Saddlery and leatherwork students learn in our leather workshop, housed in historic Victorian stables, while shoemaking students train in our cordwainers shoemaking workshop and shoe design studio.
