Capel Manor College Celebrates Its Busiest Ever Heavy Horse Show at Capel Manor Gardens
Capel Manor College and Gardens is celebrating the success of the 2026 Herts Heavy Horse and Country Show, which took place at Capel Manor Gardens in Enfield on Sunday 7 June and was the College’s busiest heavy horse show ever!
The much-loved annual event welcomed visitors from across the region for a day dedicated to celebrating the heritage, skill and spectacle of heavy horses. Families, horse enthusiasts and members of the local community enjoyed the opportunity to see these gentle giants up close and watch them in action throughout the day.
Set within the beautiful 30-acre estate of Capel Manor, the event featured an extensive programme of attractions, including heavy horse classes, competitions and awards, working demonstrations, a dog show, farrier demonstrations, trade stands and a wide range of food and refreshment stalls.
Welcoming over 2000 visitors, the record-breaking turnout created a vibrant atmosphere across the Gardens and showcased the continuing popularity of this historic event.
Visitors also explored the many attractions of Capel Manor Gardens as part of their visit, including the mini zoo. The event also provided a fantastic opportunity for guests to discover more about London’s environmental college and its array of land-based and leatherwork courses. Capel Manor College remains the only college in Europe to offer a full-time saddlery course, helping to preserve traditional craftsmanship while preparing students for careers within the industry.
