Course overview
During this two-day workshop you will explore the indirect method - a mosaic-making technique where tiles are arranged face-down on a temporary surface before being transferred to their final base.
This method is ideal for creating smooth, even surfaces and is commonly used for large-scale projects, architectural installations and detailed designs.
You will be taught by a mosaic artist and owner of Qemamu Mosaics who has taught classes for over 20 years. The tutor has featured on BBC’s Make It At Market, David & Jay’s Touring Toolshed and Channel 4’s Changing Rooms.
The completed designs will be yours to take home and enjoy.
All materials and equipment will be provided for use.
You will learn
- Design and planning
- How to mix a flour-based roux paste
- How to use cement adhesive
- Transferring a design to a permanent base
- Grouting and finishing
