From Theory to Practice: Practical Horticulture Intensive Certificate (Level 2)

Course overview

Designed for those that have previously studied the RHS Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth and Development (Level 2), or Level 2 garden design students, this intensive five-day course develops essential hands-on horticultural skills to industry-standard levels.

Through practical training and formative assessment, you will build confidence in key techniques and receive a Capel Certificate of Competency upon successful completion.

You will learn

  • Professional planting techniques and establishment aftercare
  • Practical pruning skills for a range of ornamental plants
  • Plant propagation methods including seed sowing and cuttings
  • Soil management, cultivation and mulching techniques
  • Safe and effective use of horticultural tools and equipment

Although there is no formal qualification associated with this course, all participants will receive a Capel Manor College Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the course.

Prior attainment on RHS Certificate in the Principles of Plant Growth and Development (Level 2) or Level 2 garden design course.

You can gain employment in the horticulture industry or continue your studies with another horticulture or garden design course.
