Technical Certificate in Floristry (Level 2)

Course overview

This course will introduce you to a range of commercial designs with additional knowledge and experience of working in the industry alongside your qualification.

You will have the opportunity to gain 150 hours of work experience and learn customer service and practical skills. You will learn how to care and maintain fresh materials for a variety of pathways such as: trainee hotel and corporate junior florist, junior/trainee shop florist or florist assistant on a cruise ship.

Your studies will provide you with guest speakers from the industry, personal creativity and industry visits. The qualification requires you to complete one assignment, a Health and Safety exam, and a synoptic assessment.

Technical Certificate in Floristry – City & Guilds of London Institute Reference: 60308394

At least four GCSEs at grade 4 and above (A* – C) .
An overall Merit or above in a Floristry Diploma (Level 1) or equivalent.
Relevant prior learning or experience gained in an appropriate professional environment will be considered .
Before you start your course, if you are aged between 16 and 18 years, you will be required to attend a fun and practical two-day preparation workshop where you will meet your tutors and other students on your course. Further details will be provided at the point of an offer being made.

Successful completion of this course will enable you to gain employment in the event planning industry or progress onto one of our other courses in floristry, floral design or event styling.

This is a full-time course. If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 at the start of this course, your tuition, exams and materials fees will be paid for you in full as long as you meet some basic criteria for UK residence. Further information will be provided when you enrol.

If you are aged 19 or over on the day your course starts, you may be entitled to help with tuition fees for some courses. If you are in receipt of employment benefits, have a low income, or are studying towards your first substantial qualification, you may be entitled to free tuition.
