Introduction to Floristry and Craft Skills Through Festive Designs

Course overview

Join us for our free, five-week introductory course that is full of festive fun and creativity in the run-up to Christmas.

Whether you are considering a career change, or simply wish to take up an artistic hobby, this is a great opportunity to discover if floristry and crafts are for you.

This course, available for those aged 19 and over, will give you an insight into the exciting world of floral design, where you will learn how to apply basic floristry and craft skills with a seasonal, festive design theme.

We are offering free tuition and registration for this course in which you can gain an accredited certificate upon successful completion of the course. There is a small fee of £25 to cover the costs of your weekly class resources.

Please note that you are unable to study more than one introductory course. Should you wish to continue to study with us after completing one of our introduction courses, we recommend discussing your progression options with your course tutor.

You will learn

  • How to apply basic, fresh floral design and craft skills
  • How to create simple arrangements, wired and planted designs
  • How to select the correct flowers based on seasonal availability and occasion
  • How to preserve flowers

Although there is no formal qualification associated with this course, all participants will receive a Capel Manor College Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the course.

No previous experience required. You must be aged 19 or over.

Successful completion of the course could lead to progression on to further study within the creative craft pathways of floral design, event styling or balloon artistry.
