Course overview
This course will deepen your understanding of the creative world of art and design, enhancing your skills, knowledge, and appreciation of the creative art process. You will explore a variety of techniques using alternative craft methods, sustainable materials, and mixed media.
Through research into established artists and designers, you’ll gain inspiration to develop your own unique style and creative voice. You’ll also investigate opportunities within the creative arts industry, including enterprise and employment pathways.
By the end of this course, you will produce a final piece that showcases your chosen techniques and demonstrates your understanding of the design process. All materials and tools used in your final project will be selected and provided by you to reflect your individual aesthetic.

If you are aged 19 or over on the day your course starts, you may be entitled to help with tuition fees subject to criteria. If you receive employment benefits, have a low income, or are studying towards your first substantial qualification, you may be entitled to free tuition. To qualify for this discount, you must already be studying another course at Capel Manor College, and be adding this course to your existing programme.
Successful completion of this course will enable you to progress onto a diploma or you may also wish to enhance your art skills and portfolio with our range of art and design workshops.?
