Award in Controlled Environmental Agriculture (Level 2)

Course overview

This short course will teach you revolutionary farming methods using cutting-edge technology.

By regulating factors like temperature, humidity, light, and nutrient levels, controlled environmental agriculture enables year-round cultivation of crops, regardless of geographical location or climate.

This method fosters sustainable agriculture practices, reduces water usage, and minimises the need for pesticides and herbicides, offering a promising solution to food security challenges in an ever-changing world.

You will learn about technologies such as hydroponics, aeroponics and aquaponics that optimise resource usage, minimise environmental impact, and maximise crop yields.

You will learn

  • Plant growth for a variety of environments
  • Basic theory of hydroponics, aeroponics, and aquaponics
  • Sustainable practices

Although there is no formal qualification associated with this course, all participants will receive a Capel Manor College Certificate of Attendance upon completion.

No formal qualifications required.

Upon completion of this course, you can go on to study another short course from our range of sustainable courses in green environment, climate change or carbon literacy.
