Careers and Employability Fair Inspires Future Workforce at Enfield Campus
Capel Manor College hosted its annual Careers Fair at its Enfield Campus on Friday 24 April 2026. Each year, this popular event brings together students from across the College's London campuses and a diverse range of employers from the green skills industries for a day of discovery and opportunity.
The Careers and Employability Fair featured a full programme of talks, workshops and interactive activities. Students were able to explore a variety of career pathways while gaining valuable insights into industry expectations and opportunities.
Throughout the day, employers delivered informative sessions, sharing expertise on recruitment processes, essential skills and the qualifications needed to succeed in their sectors. In addition, subject-specific “have-a-go” activities allowed students to gain hands-on experience across different areas of the campus, while general workshops provided further guidance on careers.

The event included an impressive line-up of organisations from a wide range of industries, including arboriculture, agriculture, animal management, horticulture and landscaping.
Employers were keen to connect with students, offering valuable advice and inspiration to help shape their future careers.

One exhibitor on the day, Alan Wadsworth, Senior Contract Manager at John O’Conner said:
“Liam, my apprentice, really likes working with us and enjoyed the course he studied as part of his apprenticeship at Capel Manor College. It’s a great environment to learn and everyone is friendly. For anyone looking to work in grounds maintenance or arboriculture, give it a try! Working outdoors is good for your health and there are so many divisions to move into depending on what you want to learn.”
The College has always worked closely with employers when designing its course curriculum to ensure that students are learning the skills that the land-based industries need the most. Their involvement, especially at careers events, continues to play a vital role in inspiring the next generation of professionals and strengthening links between education and industry.
