One of the biggest advantages of studying at Capel Manor College is the opportunity to work with a wide variety of animals throughout your course.
Depending on your programme and level, you will gain experience with domestic, farm and exotic species while learning how to care for them safely and professionally.

Many of our students join us because they love animals but have never worked in the industry before.
We will teach you the practical skills, scientific knowledge and professional behaviours you need throughout your course.
Animal management is a practical course, so you will need clothing that is suitable for working safely with animals.
Before you start we recommend bringing:
· Sturdy outdoor boots
· Waterproof coat
· Practical outdoor clothing suitable for all weather conditions
· Notebook and pens
· Refillable water bottle
· A laptop or suitable device for coursework and research
Most practical activities require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Any specialist equipment or uniform requirements will be explained during enrolment communications and again at induction, this equipment is provided by our preferred supplier Direct Boot who will be attending our Enfield Campus on Friday 21 August and Mottingham Campus on Monday 24 August.
Do not worry if you are unsure what you will need, we will provide you with all the information before your practical sessions begin.
We will also need to have proof of up-to-date tetanus vaccination before you are able to take part in practical lessons for your own safety.
