Capel Manor College Celebrates Student Success at The Worshipful Company of Gardeners Autumn Gala 2024
It has been a year of great achievements for Capel Manor College, and we are thrilled to again, proudly announces the remarkable achievements of two students recognized at The Worshipful Company of Gardeners Autumn Gala this Winter 2024.
This prestigious event celebrates emerging talent and excellence in horticulture and garden design, highlighting the next generation of green industry professionals.
Lucy Hare, a Level 2 Professional Gardener graduate, was awarded the Horticulture Student Award for her outstanding skills, attention to detail and exceptional plant knowledge. Following her studies, Lucy has already secured her position as a lead gardener on a large private estate and manages a growing portfolio of private gardens. With her ambition to excel in the high-end horticultural sector, Lucy has a bright future ahead.
Reflecting on her achievement, Lucy said; “I’m honoured to have received this award. Capel Manor College has given me the foundation to build my career, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.”
Sally Williams, a Level 3 Garden Design Diploma graduate, stood out among a competitive field to win the Garden Design Student Award. Known for her creativity and meticulous attention to detail, Sally has since successfully launched her career as a professional garden designer. Her work reflects a strong ethos of “people, place and nature,” creating serene spaces where people can reconnect with the natural world.
Sally commented; “This award is a testament to the incredible support and inspiration I’ve received at Capel Manor College. Designing gardens that offer an escape from city life is my passion, and I’m especially proud to be working on public realm projects. The difference these spaces can make for people who have no private outdoor space of their own is particularly rewarding, and this recognition motivates me to continue bringing these inclusive spaces to life.”
