Award in Controlled Environmental Agriculture (Level 2)

Course overview

Our controlled environmental agriculture (CEA) course revolutionises traditional farming methods by providing a highly controlled environment for plant growth, independent of external conditions.

You will learn about technologies such as hydroponics, aeroponics, and aquaponics, CEA optimises resource usage, minimises environmental impact, and maximises crop yields.

By regulating factors like temperature, humidity, light, and nutrient levels, CEA enables year-round cultivation of crops, regardless of geographical location or climate. This method fosters sustainable agriculture practices, reduces water usage, and minimises the need for pesticides and herbicides, offering a promising solution to food security challenges in an ever-changing world.

You will learn

  • Plant growth for a variety of environments
  • Basic theory of hydroponics, aeroponics, and aquaponics
  • Environmental impact and sustainable practices

Although there is no formal qualification associated with this course, all participants will receive a Capel Manor College Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the course.
