Capel Manor College Supports Enfield Summer Uni with a Free Horticulture Workshop for Young People
Capel Manor College is proud to be partnering with Enfield Council to deliver an inspiring horticulture workshop as part of the Enfield Summer Uni 2025 programme.
Running for five weeks this summer, Enfield Summer Uni offers over 90 free activities and courses for young people aged 11-19, or up to 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), who live or attend school in the borough.
As part of its commitment to supporting local communities and promoting land-based careers, Capel Manor College will be hosting a series of practical horticulture workshops at its Enfield Campus. These sessions are designed to engage young people with nature, develop new skills, and inspire them to consider future study and careers in the horticulture and environmental industries.
In addition to delivering its own workshops, Capel Manor College is providing free venue space for Enfield Council to run additional courses on its unique estate, enhancing the programme’s reach and impact.
Sam Black, Assistant Principal for Employer Skills, Innovation and Growth at Capel Manor College said:
“We are delighted to be part of Enfield Summer Uni once again. Our horticulture workshop will give young people the chance to explore the natural world in a hands-on way, learn new skills, and gain insight into the rewarding career opportunities available within the land-based sector. This partnership is a brilliant example of how we can work with the Council to benefit the borough’s young people.”
Participants will have the chance to immerse themselves in the College’s inspiring learning environment, set within 30 acres of gardens, wildlife habitats, and working plant collections.
Bookings for Enfield Summer Uni courses are open at www.youthenfield.taptub.co.uk/summeruni25. Places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis.
