In addition, students supported agriculture lecturer Mark Ballard in showing his own sheep, gaining valuable hands-on experience. Their involvement contributed to a number of awards, including the Primitive Champion title.

Mark Ballard said:
“It was a fantastic weekend at the Hertfordshire County Show. I was proud to have some of our students involved in showing my sheep, and they did an excellent job. Their professionalism, enthusiasm and teamwork throughout the event was outstanding.”

The College’s exhibition stand welcomed visitors throughout the weekend, offering a chance to speak with tutors, explore course options, and find out more about careers in the land-based industries. Produce from Forty Hall Farm, Capel Manor College’s working farm in Enfield, was also on display.

The College represented a wide range of subject areas over the weekend, including horticulture, floristry, animal management, arboriculture and environmental conservation.
