Our garden has been constructed using repurposed and locally reclaimed materials. This minimises the emissions created by manufacturing and transport as well as reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.

The galvanised steel platform, from a local scaffolding company, forms a non slip, rust-proof seating area which allows water and light to reach the plants below.

The pergola frame is created from birch poles coppiced from a nearby sustainably managed community woodland while a tree on college grounds, felled in recent storms, was used to create the log seating area. The blind provides shade in the height of summer to help cool the plants below. It is made of biodegradable hessian used to protect tree-roots while in transport.
