Over the last 50 years, Capel Manor College has helped thousands of school leavers and adults achieve their dream of working with animals, plants and the environment.  As London’s environmental college, the College plays a vital role in the green agenda for the capital, equipping the next generation of land-based sector workers with the skills and knowledge needed to preserve and protect London’s wildlife, national parks and green spaces.  Capel Manor College is an exciting, innovative and stimulating work environment and we are interested in hearing from applicants who are committed to excellence and improving the lives of others through education, training and skills development.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Seasonal Grower to join the team in the Market Garden at Forty Hall Farm – a nine-acre intensive growing site producing a wide range of seasonal organic fruit and veg for sale locally through Enfield Veg Co, our own local veg bag delivery scheme, and on-site farm shop.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic grower, ideally with some experience of small scale commercial growing. The opportunity is an ideal step to gain more experience in organic vegetable production.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working outside in all weathers, as well as high temperatures in polytunnels during the summer. A commitment to engaging with the community and in working with the Farm team to create a unique facility at Forty Hall Farm. They will demonstrable interest in organic farming, food production and horticulture, and a commitment to environmental sustainability.

What’s in it for you?

We offer the opportunity to help develop your skills and knowledge in a friendly team environment, plus a range of benefits including generous annual leave, a defined benefit pension scheme (Teacher’s Pension Scheme for Lecturing roles and Local Government Pension Scheme for Support roles), employee assistance programme and full access to Capel Gardens.
