Over the last 50 years, Capel Manor College has helped thousands of school leavers and adults achieve their dream of working with animals, plants and the environment.  As London’s environmental college, the College plays a vital role in the green agenda for the capital, equipping the next generation of land-based sector workers with the skills and knowledge needed to preserve and protect London’s wildlife, national parks and green spaces.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint Practical Instructor for Agriculture and Environmental Conservation.

The key responsibility of the Practical Instructor is to support the teaching staff across all courses within the College’s Agriculture and Environmental Conservation programmes, including maintaining practical equipment and providing practical demonstration and technical instruction to students.

The ideal candidate will be assisting with the day to day routine care of the College’s Livestock including cleaning out of accommodation, provision of feed, water, bedding, nesting material, and daily health checks.  You will provide demonstrations and technical instruction to students undertaking practical work from entry level to level 3.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative and beautiful land-based environment.

In order to be considered for the position, an application form must be completed.  CVs will not be accepted.  For further details and to apply, please visit the job vacancies section on the Capel Manor College website.

Please note that the College does not have a sponsorship licence.  We are therefore unable to consider applicants who do not have the right to work in the UK.

We reserve the right to close a position once sufficient suitable applications have been received to form a short list.  Early application is therefore encouraged.

We offer the opportunity to help develop your skills and knowledge in a friendly team environment, plus a range of benefits including generous annual leave, a defined benefit pension scheme (Teacher’s Pension Scheme for Lecturing roles and Local Government Pension Scheme for Support roles), employee assistance programme and full access to Capel Manor Gardens.
