Our natural world is changing and needs your passion to help tackle the challenges it faces in the light of climate change, sustainability, air quality, waste and food security. As London’s only specialist environmental college, we are proud to play a vital role in the Capital’s green agenda
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Executive Assistant to work with our senior college leaders. The role is an integral part of how the college leadership functions effectively, how we manage relationships with our stakeholders and how we present the college in the best possible light through everything from individual conversations to large-scale events.
The successful candidate will deliver, as part of small collaborative Executive Office team, a high quality executive support service to individual leaders and the college leadership community. Part of the role is regular personal assistance like diary management, dealing with correspondence, preparing reports and presentations or doing research. Minute and note-taking is an important part of the role as is co-ordinating papers for individual or committee meetings. Part of the role is working with our new Customer Support Services team to help deliver events and outreach activity like open days, staff conferences, awards ceremonies and social events. All of this needs to be done in a way that supports efficiency and leaves a professional impression of the team and the college.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and good administrative and personal assistant experience is more important than a history of running events. A professional EA or business administration qualification is essential, or equivalent by experience. Whilst previous experience in education is not essential, it would be helpful and, of course, the range of administrative skills required to be effective in the role is wide-ranging. Good communication skills are a must. Safeguarding is important in our work so an understanding of that is helpful but training can be provided.
What’s in it for you?
We offer the opportunity to help develop your skills and knowledge in a friendly team environment, plus a range of benefits including a career average pension scheme (LGPS), employee assistance programme and full access to Capel Gardens.
Equality, diversity and inclusion
We are committed to creating and promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce that better reflects the wider community we support. We particularly welcome applicants from groups currently under-represented in senior roles, including females, Black, Asian, Ethnic Minority Groups, people with disabilities and from the LGBTQ community.
Safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of our students and expect everybody working for the College to share this commitment. We actively seek DBS clearance checks for applications of employment as part of our safeguarding procedures.
