Student Enrichment

Being a student at Capel Manor College is different to any other school or college. Whilst you are enrolled with us you have unique privileges and opportunities, and your contribution to the College is important to us.

Your time with us can be about much more than just study and there are many other activities to get involved with for fun and for your personal development including opportunities for volunteering. You will find that the more you put into your time at Capel Manor College, the more you benefit in the long term.

Team Capel

Team Capel is a volunteering opportunity for you to get involved in at any of the College campuses beyond your studies, to extend your interests, confidence, personal skills and have some fun, volunteering can look great on your CV!

The work experience that you undertake as part of your practical duties makes a big contribution to the running of our Gardens, farm and estates. You will have the opportunity to help out at events, our zoos and farm, and meet and greet potential students at our Open Days and Advice Sessions.

Enrichment, EDI and Events

There are a variety of events that take place over the year at the College that you can take part in, from charity fundraisers and student talent shows, to national exhibitions and multicultural fairs. You will find your time with us rewarding, fulfilling and fun.

Each campus has the ability to offer lunch time groups and activities, these vary from campus to campus. Student-led activities are encouraged and support will be provided should you want to start a lunch time group to share your passions.

Work experience

Work experience is an essential part of preparing to work in industry whether you are a school leaver or changing career. We insist that work experience is part of most courses and will help you find work placements, although it is important that you take the lead wherever possible.

There are also important opportunities for gaining work experience across the College campuses by working in our Gardens, with the animal collections or in some of our commercial activities.
