Aspire Programme

Capel Manor College's Aspire Programme is an enrichment programme available to all Capel Manor College students aged 16 to 18, and those 19+ studying a full-time course.

The programme is designed to provide you with the opportunity to explore beyond your course and engage with the wider College and local community to reach your personal goals.

We are committed to helping you take ownership of your career and personal development. This initiative is an innovative and rewarding way for you to realise your ambitions as it will build upon and enhance the skills you gain on your course. Our expert tutors and support staff will help you to maximise your employability potential, or eligibility for university progression, through our exceptional partnerships and networks within the land-based industries.

How can you achieve an Aspire Programme certificate?

We offer a range of certificates to enhance your knowledge and skills. You will work to earn certificates from bronze through to gold to demonstrate your commitment and dedication to learning. Your timetable will be designed to include dedicated time for enrichment activities so that you can gain experience in a new area.

To be able to achieve one (or more) of the certificates, you must have fulfilled the following criteria, with each having their own benchmarks depending on the course you are studying:

  • Attendance in vocational lessons
  • Attendance in Maths and English classes
  • Additional learning activities
  • Work experience
  • Completed Safeguarding qualification
  • Conduct

How will the scheme help your employability?

We provide careers advice and guidance to help you make decisions and plan your next steps. We will support you in your development during the programme and can offer professional employability and enterprise opportunities, as well as additional enrichment activities to help you reach your full potential in your chosen career.

A vital part of the programme is completing work experience. You will undertake an external work placement to gain first-hand industry experience, providing you with a better understanding of working environments and helping to grow your confidence.

You can benefit from enrichment activities

Team Capel is a volunteering scheme for you to get involved beyond your studies, to extend your interests, confidence, personal skills, and have some fun! Team Capel opportunities are available at all College campuses.

You will have the opportunity to volunteer at our public events, zoos and farms, and become a student ambassador by meeting and greeting potential students at our Open Days and Advice Sessions.

You will benefit from unique opportunities to take part in enrichment activities such as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Enterprise workshops, or volunteering programmes within the community or at College events.
