Shoemaking at London’s environmental college

We offer the Access to HE Diploma in Shoemaking, supported by the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers; a practical course that truly focuses on mastering your hand skills and techniques to craft the perfect pair of shoes.

This full-time course is taught at our Enfield Campus by industry experts through hands-on workshops. Our students confidently enter the shoemaking industry with the practical and transferable skills needed to land careers within a variety of areas, such as luxury leather production, fashion, the British Army, and more.

Career prospects


A shoemaker makes, designs and repairs footwear. They take measurements, gather materials, calculate costs and cut materials into shape to meet bespoke design requirements.

Footwear Designer

This is an ideal job if you are someone who enjoys visualising and designing new products. A footwear designer keeps up-to-date with emerging trends and often works to a design brief in line with branding and production requirements.

Costume Designer

Explore your passion for fashion and utilise your hand craft skills by creating bespoke costumes for actors and actresses in TV, theatre or film.
