Agriculture at London's environmental college

Did you know you can study the science and practice of farming, in London?

The agricultural industry continuously relies on new talent to seek innovative and sustainable ways of meeting the demands of the world, no matter where you live.

When you study agriculture with us you will develop a mix of technical skills and knowledge and gain hands-on, practical experience at our certified organic Forty Hall Farm in Enfield, Crystal Palace Park Farm, and other city farms across the capital, including Mudchute Farm.

You will also support breeding programmes in conjunction with the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and provide high welfare for livestock species, operate farm machinery and harvest crops.

Samer landed skills that matter

Getting to know where our food comes from and being in contact with the livestock were my favourite parts of the course. I have gained knowledge that will help me run my own farm in the countryside one day. Samer studied agriculture and wildlife management.

Career prospects

Farm Manager

As a farm manager, you will plan finances and production to maintain farm progress as well as undertake practical activities, such as operating machinery and feeding livestock.

Nature Reserve Manager

National parks, local wildlife trusts and large estates require rangers, wardens, and experts. You could help build hedges and dry-stone walls, as well as maintain biodiversity in rural and urban green spaces.

Ecologist

Ecologists look at relationships in the natural world; studying how animals, plants and humans interact with each other. You will often work outdoors conducting fieldwork and then examine your findings in a laboratory.
