Duration: Part Time – 1 day per week 9am to 4pm for 7 weeks

This course will enable you to gain confidence in gardening skills which could lead towards employment or voluntary work.

Topics include:

  • Maintaining gardens & borders
  • Planting & maintaining trees, shrubs & flowers
  • Sowing vegetables from seed
  • Learning what cultivation means & how to do this
  • Using a range of tools, equipment & machinery
  • Health & Safety practices
  • Plant Identification
  • Practical work in the college gardens

Practical Assessments will be carried in some of the above topics
Successful completion of these will result in a City & Guilds Level 1 Award

Entry requirements
Willingness to learn new skills and to undertake practical tasks
You will need to have literacy skills for taking notes
