Duration: Part Time – 1 day per week 9am to 4pm for 7 weeks
What centre: Enfield & Crystal Palace Park
This course will enable you to gain confidence in gardening skills which could lead towards employment or voluntary work.
- Maintaining gardens & borders
- Planting & maintaining trees, shrubs & flowers
- Sowing vegetables from seed
- Learning what cultivation means & how to do this
- Using a range of tools, equipment & machinery
- Health & Safety practices
- Plant Identification
- Practical work in the college gardens
Practical Assessments will be carried in some of the above topics
Successful completion of these will result in a City & Guilds Level 1 Award
Willingness to learn new skills and to undertake practical tasks
You will need to have literacy skills for taking notes
