Advanced Technical Diploma in Floristry (Level 3)

Course overview

This course will provide you with comprehensive knowledge of the retail floristry industry at an advanced level. Your studies will be enriched by practical industry experience, industry visits and personal creative exploration.

To gain this qualification, you must successfully achieve, two externally set and moderated assignments, one externally set and marked exam, and one portfolio.

Employer involvement in the delivery and/or assessment of this qualification is essential and will be externally quality assured.

This qualification is graded: Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*.

At least four GCSEs at grade 4 and above (A* – C). An overall Merit or above in a Floristry Diploma (Level 2) or equivalent . Relevant prior learning or experience gained in an appropriate professional environment will be considered. Before you start your course, if you are aged between 16 and 18 years, you will be required to attend a fun and practical two-day preparation workshop where you will meet your tutors and other students on your course. Further details will be provided at the point of an offer being made.

Successful completion of this course will help you gain employment in the industry as a senior florist or obtain a managerial position. You will also be able to progress to our Higher Diploma in Floristry (Level 4) which can lead to becoming a Master Florist or higher education.

If you are aged 16 to 18 years old at the start of your course, there are no course fees to pay. If you are aged 19 or over you will need to pay the course fees yourself, or apply for an Advanced Learner Loan (ALL). More information can be found on our Fees and Funding page.
