Course overview
This free, part-time course is ideal if you want to learn more about the tangible ways you can actively improve the natural environment around you while also increasing your numeracy skills with the embedded math activities.
While studying this course, you will learn how to create an insect conservation centre using sustainably sourced and costed materials. More than 2,000 different bug species live in a typical garden, and many of these carry out crucial tasks, including pest control and flower pollination.
As you create the ideal habitat to encourage the vital work of insects, you will also gain an understanding of how local and wider outdoor surroundings can help or hinder bugs. Learn how environmental issues effect differs depending on the distance travelled in the environment. You will design, cost, execute, adjust the planned time, and evaluate the project, learning how to use sustainable materials and equipment along the way.
Please note that whilst tuition is free for this course, there is a small fee of £30 for materials.
This course is delivered as part of the London Multiply programme.
