Course overview

Our Higher Diploma in Professional Floristry (Level 4) is aimed at industry professionals looking to develop and enhance their independent floristry knowledge and design skills.

This course will build on your existing knowledge and practical skills using a range of techniques.

You will learn

  • A range of floristry techniques in tied, wired, glued mediums and design trends
  • How to effectively market and promote a floristry business
  • How the industry functions from inspiring educational industry visits

Higher Diploma in Professional Floristry (Level 4) – City & Guilds of London Institute Reference: 50012204

At least four GCSEs at grade 4 and above (A* to C) including Maths and English.
You have achieved a merit grade or above in a Level 3 qualification in professional floristry and have a retail experience in the industry. The Higher Diploma in Professional Floristry is for anybody who works in floristry at management level, or has run their own business for a minimum of three years.
Accessing the industry is a requirement of this qualification.

Successful completion of this course will help you to obtain a managerial position or to run your own business. You will also be able to explore your personal development and industry knowledge on a Master Diploma in Floristry (Level 5) which can lead to either becoming a Master Florist or progressing to higher education.

This course is part-funded by the ESFA (Education and Skills Funding Agency) or Greater London Authority (GLA) for those that are eligible.

If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 at the start of the course, your tuition, exams and materials fees will be paid for you in full as long as you meet some basic criteria for UK residence (more information can be found on our Fees and Funding page).

If you are aged 19 or over on the day your course starts, you may be entitled to help with tuition fees subject to criteria. If you receive employment benefits, have a low income, or are studying towards your first substantial qualification, you may be entitled to free tuition. For some of our courses, we offer a discount for current students. If this is the case, you will see the reduced fee when you select your chosen course campus and start date. To qualify for this discount, you must already be studying another course at Capel Manor College, and be adding this course to your existing programme.
