Course overview
Within this apprenticeship, you will learn how to organise operational and project responsibilities, in addition to manage the workflow of individuals, a team or elements of a project.
Team leaders provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. They are vital for the smooth functioning of all departments in any organisation, and are often responsible for ensuring the function is correctly administered and maintained in line with legislation of the organisation’s procedures.
This apprenticeship is an exciting work-based route towards developing key skills in leading and managing people. It also aligns with The Chartered Management Institute for Associate Membership and Institute of Leadership for Associate Membership.

- Relevant regulation, legislation and compliance that impacts your role and the organisation
- Organisational strategy and objectives and how your role impacts on them
- How to manage resources to implement operational and team plans
- Time management and prioritisation tools
- Communication techniques including presentation skills, negotiation and influencing skills
- Stakeholder management
- Problem-solving and decision-making principles
- The principles of change management and continuous improvement
- IT and software used to support the activities of a business
Team Leader Apprenticeship (Level 3)
You will need Level 2 English and maths qualifications if not previously achieved to be completed prior to the Entry Point Assessment. You will also need to be employed in one of the following job roles: duty lead, project lead, supervisor, team leader or similar.
Apprentices that successfully complete all parts of the apprenticeship will receive a full apprenticeship certificate. This apprenticeship can be a gateway to further career opportunities, such as management or senior support roles.
