Level 2 Award in Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue

Course overview

If you wish to climb trees and perform aerial rescue, this course is a prerequisite for any further aerial work or training.

You will need to be physically fit with a good head for heights. This course is delivered over five consecutive days, followed by a one-day independent NPTC assessment.

All prices include hire of equipment (£35 for external candidates/£10 for Capel Manor College students). All chainsaw assessments require a £50 deposit for a Capel Manor College student or £350 for a non-student.

You will learn

  • Access and movement techniques within trees to achieve work positions
  • Branch walking and use of redirects movement within the crown
  • Health and safety regulations and industry best practice
  • How to conduct climbing equipment checks
  • Aerial rescues recovery of both conscious and unconscious casualties
