The reception was well attended by key figures in the further education industry and 20 MPs, including the MP for Enfield, Southgate David Burrowes. The Minister of State for Apprenticeships and Skills, Rt Hon Robert Halfon MP, also attended the reception speaking very positively of the crucial contribution colleges make to the UK economy and society.

Ursula Stone one of the students involved with the creation of the stunning floral displays says since starting at Capel in 2015, she has definitely been “bitten by the Floristry bug” and has gained “a recognised qualification, a love of floristry and a re-awakening of creativity. Without Capel Manor and the knowledge and support of my tutors I wouldn’t have been confident enough to embark on my new career path.”
